WELCOME   to the United Kingdom Independence Party Woking website, specializing in news and events relevant to the Woking constituency. Woking forms part of UKIP's North West Surrey Branch.   Surrey Heath constituency is also part of the same branch, but has a separate website here.

The UK Independence Party is committed to withdrawing Britain from the European Union. As the debate on the Lisbon Treaty has now made clear, the EU agenda is complete political union with all the main functions of national government taken over by the bureaucratic institutions of Brussels. UKIP believes that this is not only bad for Britain's economy and prosperity, but it is an undemocratic system of government that will ultimately prove to be totally unacceptable to the British people.

We believe that Britain should be an independent self-governing nation and not part of a European Federal Superstate. We welcome support from people who believe in british parliamentary democracy. We are campaigning not just to get control of our country back from Brussels, but in the process, to bring about more local democracy, fairness, and the chance for ordinary people to choose, rather than just be told by unelected bureaucrats. The party has a full compliment of domestic and international policies, covering all the main issues that affect Britain today. In addition we have local policies that we contend will make the Woking area a better place to live, work and enjoy.   Come, join us and help us make a difference!

Forthcoming Events

The branch will be holding its AGM on Thursday 18th February, starting 7:45pm in Chobham. Members will have received details through the post about this event. Speakers to include our prospective parliamentary candidates Rob Burberry (Woking) and Mark Stroud (Surrey Heath). We have also invited guest speaker Gerard Batten MEP on this occasion.

Our Spring Conference will be taking place in Milton Keynes, on Friday 19th March. All UKIP members are invited to attend, but must book in advance through the SE office. More details here.

The branch will be holding a number of social and political events during the coming year.

 

Recent Events

The branch held a pre-christmas social in Chobham on Wednesday November 25th, with an opportunity to recognise the work of Sonya Porter for UKIP over many years. Some pictures from the event are posted below.

Some Other Events From Last Year

The branch was represented at the Pyrford & Wisley Flower Show this year on 11th July. It was an opportunity to share information on UKIP and raise funds, we hope to be there again this year.

The branch held its annual summer garden party in the Windlesham area this year, it brought in about 45 members. This event was held on 26 July. It was good to see many members attending.
